My Boyfriend Has the same condition. He has Had (what you call a hole in your throat) for about 3 Years, He is 46 year of age he was diagnosed at 42 years of age. went through 7 or 8 surgery's. He is a very good man and has been blessed by god, He wear's a bandana around his neck
He has a voice prostheses........... He talk like he should

| My Dad is having this surgery on May 10 2005. I am still very curious about this operation and the after affects. I am fearful for him and his home stay. He will be in the hospital for only 10 days and I hope that is enough time for him to recovery well enough and for us ( mom & me ) to learn how to care for him once he comes home. He is only 63 but he has been a smoker since early teenage years. |
